Abba

Abba sprang to prominence in 1974 when they won the Eurovision Song Contest with `Waterloo’. They then went on to achieve massive worldwide success and topped charts worldwide from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s before splitting up making their their last public appearance in 1986 for a Swedish TV show. The band's music however is still as popular today with tribute bands and a sell out West End show based on their music.

The Bee Gees

The Bee Gees

The Bee Gees (Barry, Robin & Maurice Gibb) are most famous for their collection of songs that featured in the movie `Saturday Night Fever’. The Bee Gees started to perform together in the late sixties and by the mid-seventies were amongst the foremost stars of disco. The brothers co-wrote most of their hits, and when Maurice died in 2003 they retired the group name in his honour.

Eminem

Eminem is infamous for the controversy surrounding many of his lyrics but he achieved massive success. He has sold over seventy million albums worldwide Eminem is one of the highest-selling musicians of the early 2000s and one of the highest-selling rap artists of all time.

Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue rose to prominence in the 1980s through her role in the Australian Soap, `Neighbours’ before starting a very successful singing career. She signed for the British music writer/producers Stock Aitken & Waterman and had a string of top ten hits, including `I Should Be So Lucky’. Kylie split with SA&W in 1992 but continued to have hits. Her best selling hit to date is `Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ released in 2001 which went to No.1 in more than 20 countries.

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake came to fame as the lead singer of pop boy band 'N Sync and has won four Grammy Awards as well as an Emmy Award. In 2002, he released his debut solo album, Justified, which sold over seven million copies worldwide and his first two albums have sold a combined total of over 15 million albums worldwide.

Madonna

Madonna

Madonna is listed by Guinness World Records as the most successful female recording artist of all time. Her first UK hit was `Holiday’ which reached No. 6 in the UK singles charts in 1983. A number of other singles hits followed, including `Like a Virgin’, `Material Girl’ and `Crazy for You’, before she had her first UK No.1 with `Into the Groove’. Madonna has created various personas throughout her music career and became a style icon for many young women throughout the 80s and 90s.

Take That

Take That

Take That achieved massive success in the 90s. They sold 19 million records between the years of 1990-1996 and were described by the BBC as "the most successful British band since The Beatles". The band split in 1996 but, after a 2005 documentary and the release of a greatest hits album, they have reformed (without Robbie Williams) with great commercial and critical success.

Westlife

Westlife

Westlife have achieved massive success with fourteen number 1 singles in the United Kingdom between the years 1999 and 2007, the third-highest such total in UK history. They are also the only artist/group to win 'Record of the Year' in the UK four times. Westlife received twenty-eight platinum discs each for their eight albums. In Ireland, Westlife were awarded the Best Irish Pop Act, a public voting category, at the annual Ireland Meteor Awards for the seventh consecutive year in 2007.

Wham/George Michael

Wham/George Michael

George Michael is one of the most successful UK male solo artists. He came to prominence with pop band Wham! before starting off on a successful solo career. George Michael has had 12 UK No.1 hits; two with the band Wham! and ten solo hits. The hit `Careless Whisper’ is considered by many fans to be his signature tune, becoming one of the most played records of the 80s. Success has continued despite well publicised fall out with his record company, with a sell out 25th anniversary tour in 2007.
