A framed photo of REM's Michale Stipe. REM are considered pioneers of US indie rock. They formed in 1980 and gained recognition through some early releases played on college radio and almost constant touring. Their breakthrough in the UK came in 1991 with `Shiny Happy People’ one of the most iconic hits of the 90s.
